The company Couteaux du Chef wanted to infuse the fun and dynamic spirit of its teams into its advertising campaigns. To achieve this, we opted for a humorous and offbeat tone. The videos take on a light-hearted and self-deprecating tone, showcasing situations reimagined with a touch of exaggeration and surprise. This creative approach not only sets the brand apart from its competitors but also makes the kitchen knives accessible to everyone from culinary enthusiasts to casual home cooks. The advertisement was screened in cinemas located near the store.

Promote the brand and its two stores by creating a bold and humorous film to leave a lasting impression.
The stages of production
- Pre-production: The concept is based on humor and an exaggerated situation inspired by the classic codes of horror films. At the heart of the story: a playful misunderstanding between a potential killer and a saleswoman from the “Couteau du Chef” store. The script intentionally plays with genre clichés to better subvert them, creating a humorous contrast between the audience’s expectations and the much more mundane reality of the scene.
- Production: Staging a humorous misunderstanding between the deliberately unsettling purchases of a serial killer and the naive, laid-back attitude of an enthusiastic saleswoman. She is fully absorbed in her mission: to passionately sell him the best products from the “Couteau du Chef” store. This contrast in perceptions creates situational humor, driven by absurd dialogues and a cinematic approach inspired by horror films, where the dramatic tension is used to better highlight the comedic effect.
- Post-production: We preserved the archetypal codes of horror films. To achieve this, we enhanced the scenes involving the killer with deliberate use of visual effects, sound design, music, and editing. Each element was carefully designed to heighten the dramatic tension and sustain the ambiguity of the misunderstanding, all while remaining true to the conventions of the genre.
- Distribution: The video was shared on social media, YouTube, and as pre-show advertising in select cinemas in the 06 region.
